I have some really exciting news! Joel and I are moving to JAPAN!
And in only two months!
Now that Joel is in technical training, I knew we would hear news of where he got stationed probably around the fourth week. I was worried about deciding if I should stay in Arizona to finish school, or if I should move with him. The problem was that I had a full ride scholarship, and most schools require 2 years of school through them to get a degree. With only a year left, it seemed like the better choice would be to be apart for a year to save 2 years worth of school and out of state tuition. Still, I was really worried about making that decision because it was going to be really hard. The whole time I was praying maybe he would be stationed in Arizona.
Turns out, Joel found out after only a few days. I was completely shocked! Japan had not even crossed my mind. I thought they only stationed you overseas if you asked for it, and the only overseas place we would have ever thought about would be in Germany.
So much for Joel turning in a list of where he would like to be stationed! When Joel told me, I was so happy. Now I don't even have to worry about staying in Arizona to finish school; being different countries is just out of the question. Plus, it would cost a fortune to fly to Japan and back for a couple of visits.
Here is the other good news! It looks like I can finish my degree in a year as planned, but now just in a different country. The school I will be enrolled in only requires a single year plus I can transfer most, if not all of my credits, so I won't have to repeat anything. The tuition is also less than a typical state college. Although it isn't completely covered, I'm sure I will be able to find some sort of scholarship to help buffer the cost.
I am so blessed that everything is coming along so well! I can hardly even think about anything else right now since I am so excited. YAY!
